What is the extent of the banning?

    I know google can drop page rank on diretories, and also remove them from their index.

    But what about google adsense?
    if you have adsense on a dropped directory, witll the adsense clicks register?

    Yes they will. Google probably won't ever bad you, just give you a SERP penalty.

    If you do things the right way you won't face any penalties. I don't see the likes of Yahoo or BOTW being dropped, do you?

    Adsense has got nothing to do with penalization! If the quality of traffic is good and you are getting genuine clicks, your adsense will work normally:)

    Hmmm, I have gotten several hundred impressions for the site in adsense and no clicks registered for over a week now....I clicked from another pc once or twice and they didnt register.

    Sounds odd

    General directories do NOT perform well with adsense. The ads are not very specifc and your users will be webmasters - who don't click ads much.

    Yep, AdSense can run pretty well even on completely banned or penalized site.

    being banned by the search engine has nothing to do with adsense, I mean fo example even if your site is banned from adsense you can still advertise it on adwords as far as I know.
