    Hi guys,

One hacker told me that there Vista is so prone to trojan horse attack.

Sadly, these few days I saw 3 emails requesting resetting my various passwords such as from amazon and DP. Apparently, someone has access to my gmail account.

Do you think it is because i'm running on Vista and there's trojan horse in my computer which my AVG and sophos antivirus can't detect?

    Help appreciate,

It's not vista. You get those emails from spammers.

Just install an antiphising blocker. Like Norton 360

Sounds like someone's phished you, my friend.

Get an anti-virus software that will protect you from this in the future.

I think vista is only safe from autorun viruses :) and not trojan horse viruses.

Also if you are using a MS browser, they are really prone to being vulnerable. The extremely bloated code inside of the browser is what the hackers violate (easily I might add). Most of the security updates that MS issues are to fix vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer.

I mostly use Firefox and I have much fewer issues using it than any version of Internet Explorer.

A phishing email - ie an email from a bank, paypal or whatever site asking you to change your password by clicking on a link has nothing to do with the OS at all.

If you need to check your account, you go to the site and check there, not click on the link in the email.

A trojan horse on your system would not be sending you emails. If you really had one on your system, it would probably do keystroke logging and get your passwords that way.

That is exactly my friend from a IT security firm tell me too. It's that the Internet Eplorer in vista is very easily vulnerable. He also suggested using Firework.

So does it mean by using firefox in Vista, I am safe from keylogger and hacking?
