    Likewise!

In addition, the rankings tell you that it's not accurate:

It seems more accurate than similar tools but I wouldn't rely on the figures at all. It's a pitty that they no-follow the links back as well.

Exactly, plus there's too many factors that can't be calculated automaticaly without some kind of human input such as how easy the website can be produced, advertising costs, click through ratio etc etc

Being the owner of the site ... I agree that the accuracy is imperfect. Any automated value calculator would be.

It will explain how the estimate was done: http://www.yourwebsitevalue.com/understanding_the_result.html

Also understand that it evaluates the website, not the business.

What's cool is the comparison you can make with other websites. It's also cool to see an history of your website value.

Why do you nofollow the 'Access this Website' link?

Because of google search engine optimization. If you read through their document, they lower a website value (search ranking) if they link randomly to non-related website. Since I link to "ALL" websites out there, I figured that google would analyzed the website wrongly without the no-follow. But thats my interpretation.

I don't imagine you would be receiving much search engine traffic anyway.

And when each page is optimized for the keyword 'www.domain.com' I think it would be beneficial to link to that domain, as it's completely relevant to ranking for that domain name. (I can't think of any other keywords you would be targeting other than www.domain.com)

These sites are more for fun. As we all know, your site has value if it’s making profit, or if somebody wants to buy it.

For the domain value only check out Estibot.com

They get close to a million hits per month and it's likely to be one of the best tools out there that you can use with any degree of reliability based on previous sold names which are very similar.

Estibot do say themselves though that the tool is no substitute for a human appraisal.

If you buy their full package, you will get a load of other very useful tools as well, not just appraisals.

You can check it out at http://www.estibot.com but don't be disappointed if it comes back giving you a low value.

At least this is the thing with Estibot appraisals, whilst many other tools will overly inflate the price, Estibot will do the opposite and try to give you one based on actual real live data.

Check it out for yourself on the link above, they enjoy a very good name and reputation generally speaking, and it's likely one of the best tools you can use for any domain.

Of course, you having a website attached will affect the value and a poster above gave you a good indication of what to expect, based on revenue.

Personally, I think the domain by itself does have some value in it's own right, about $500-$800 for that alone, by itself, to an end user. Reseller - a lot less.

Quote "The system used at YourWebsiteValue.com projected what I think to be the most realistic price of my blog site. I feel that it is about correct, but this is not to say that the value was just “luck of the draw” (as I believe it was). I think that there is a lot of room to fudge the results and get an over-priced valuation. They use metrics like “popularity” and “recognition” which I believe are essential, so I have to say this turned out the most accurate for me."

This guy who owned thenetfool.com has tried multiple calculator and found out that yourwebsitevalue.com was the most accurate. http://www.thenetfool.com/finding-blog-value/

Don't get me wrong, any automated calculator are approximative. At yourwebsitevalue.com, we try to incorporate alot of information from multiple sources into the formula.

What's nice is the history you can get out of it. Example:

Obviously the Kon poster has not got the complete range of tools at his disposal , if he did, he would not be saying by any measure that Estibot is crap.
