You really need to be a little more specific with you question, but as a general asnwer the differences may at first only apear to be cosmetic............ but as a Photoshop user you must already know that alot of Photoshops strength lies beneath the service. CS3 no longer has image ready as a lot of the functions have now been incorporated directly into the main software. Quite simply, yest there are a lot of changes and its worth the upgrade, just google for free tutorials of CS3, and it may give you a better idea
One of the best transformations is the better style of effortlessly being able to do tasks at the push of a button on CS3. It's a lot more compact, like the other person said, so yeah, it's worth it.
Most of the updates are cosmetic, but the work space did get some tweaks too. The interface is now setup to help you decrease the time it take you to complete tasks.
I used to do Animated Banners in CS2 using ImageReady. But now when CS3 comes to market, with no ImageReady, where is the function of creating animated gifs inside the Photoshop CS3?~
Look at your menu bar. Click Window->Animation. That's where you will load your animated layers. Once you're finished click File->Save for Web & Devices (Alt+Shift+Ctrl+S). And as was said before, it's definitely worth upgrading to CS3. Once you get the hang of it, it can tend to be quite a bit less time consuming.
Wow, I am really thankful for this tip. I never thought it was incorporated within CS3. Reps+ (Unfortunately, gave you too much today )
Depends on what you really do with photoshop. Many users never get past even using the basics of Photoshop Elements. In that sense there is no difference between anything you use. However if you are a professional artist then yes CS3 is a mandatory upgrade.
i really like the improvement of the tools and interface. definitely get it if you are on an intel mac. it runs much better on leopard.
there is a lotta difference between 7 and CS3. CS3 is highly flexible and the import/export functions is absolutely awesome. Photoshop rendering has been changed for the wayyyyyyy better. In my opinion, 7 dont even compare to CS3.
CS has a few bells and whistles that PS7 doesn't, it depends on whether you want or need these as to whether its worth upgrading or not. For me the added extras didn't warrant the expense. However CS2 is now available, and I'll have to do another cost/benefits analysis. Do remember also, that most brushes, filters, actions, tutorials etc. will now be written with CS2 in mind.
Its much much better like every version of photoshop. Just install it and you`ll see the big difference.
