I have some good experience with article submission, social bookmarking, classified, blogging, forum posting, and more.... in building backlinks to my sites.

Link exchanging with relevant sites is one more point that should be added in ur list

 

I believe that one of the best techniques ever is: start a contest.

Not only you'll get a lot of visitors but you can also get a hell lot of backlinks if the prize you're offering is a nice one

contests work great give out a nice prize and you will get lots of traffic. Im looking at giving away couple of Wii games for my site last time around i got nice backlinks and a great amount of users on my forum.

great content work good too people come back and posts your link on their site make it easy for people to want to place your link on their site.

 

these are all great ways to build links... but the most important thing is to stay consistant and keep working hard... don't just go on a link building rampage for one day and neglect to build links later on.... hard work is key

this is true i went on a link quest for 2 months i sure increased my backlinks but lost a lot of active users because the site was neglected to build links. focus on content and making it worth for poeple to come back and backlinks will follow

 

What about press releases? Any thoughts.

 

press releases are good if you have a fully functional site but most of us start building backlinks as soon as we have something stable well i do at least

Using targeted and effective articles that would be popular on platforms like digg and stumbleupon. would give you a boost too.

 

the links that you received or get from other site must be relevant and related to your own site..

I'm doing blog commenting, forum posting and those social bookmarking! Next month I will try to build more back links by starting a contest on my blog!
