OK, so i'm having a computer built by a friend and this is the spec I have so far decided on (well, not 100%)..

Asus P5N-E SLI 650i Socket 775 PCI-E Onboard Audio ATX Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 Stepping (2.4GHz 1066MHz) Socket 775 L2 8MB Cache (2x4MB (4MB per core pair) Retail Boxed Processor

Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB SATA II 7200RPM 16MB Cache - OEM

Corsair 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL5(5-5-5-18) Heat Spreader Lifetime Warranty

Sony DRU-190A 20X DVD±RW DL & DVD-RAM IDE internal - Retail With Multi Bezel & Nero

Coolermaster Elite 330 Black Case With CM eXtreme Power 460W PSU

Point Of View 8800GT 512MB GDDR3 256bit Dual DVI PCI-E Graphics Card

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium - Licence and media - 1 PC - OEM - DVD - 64-bit - English
Code (markup):
Basically, my question is :

What will I be able to do with this PC and what will I not be able to do?

My main priority is running Photoshop and InDesign CS3.

What's it's graphics capabilities? ie. which of the new games could it run ok?

Cheers in advance,
Davey.

They are some pretty good components there. It is much better than my current system and I run Photoshop without any problems.

Thanks for info - yeah I want to get 4gb just to future proof it at much as I can really. I often need to create 600dpi large canvases on photoshop and that eats 2gb like its nothing when you have a lot of layers going on!

The only games i really want to play are pro evo and COD4 but not sure if COD4 will run well on it.

looks like COD4 will
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_of_Duty_4:_Modern_Warfare#Development

scroll down to development and right side you will see "system req"
those reqs are pretty low compared to yours

if you have problem, it'll be only due to graphic Card..but I doubt it

Just remember, you're running 64 bit vista and there are still issues with compatibility with both hardware and software.
