Castrate Sex Offenders

    A new bill passed a Senate committee in Louisiana today that could give judges just that option. For first time offenders, judges would have the option to chop it off or burn it off in a chemical process called MPA (medroxyprogestrone acetate). For second time offenders, the judge would be required to turn them into a eunuch, as long as a doctor agreed. Just in case you thought this was “the easy way out,” the bill clearly states that the castration would not decrease jail sentences at all. Just an extra little bonus.

    It's a bit barbaric in my opinion.
    I'd just shoot the bastards instead. Shooting is scientifically proven to cut reoffending rates significantly.

    I always though castrate was removal of the third leg, not its too friends.

    how do you define a sex offender? A rapist? Than yes, I agree with this law and I also think parents who abuse kids should also be sterilised

    Castration seems like a good idea but there are many people who are falsely accused of being a sex offender. Castration will be a bad thing for the people who are falsely accused.

    I heard that kind of law was prevailing during the earlier period of civilization. I don't know how many people will agree to this kind of "Tit for Tat" method in a flourishing democracy. But it will reduce the crime rate drastically, imo ;)
