    you should be fine as long as your new domain is following googles ToS. Meaning you aren't doing any SEO blackhat techniques.

    Think about it... I can redirect a site I own to a site that you own. Your site will not get a penalty. Otherwise, people would abuse this notion if otherwise.

    You might be right, but what if we are talking about penalized non-www domain indexed in Google?

    Lets say something.com was penalized.
    And www something.com is newly indexed.

    I want to redirect the non-www to the www.

    What will happen then?

    I do not think google will penalize a site because a site that has been banned is redirecting to it.

    What will Google do if i report spammy site where a link to my site appears?
    Is it going to ban my site also? Or it's just going to deindex the spammy site only?
