DP signature link sales can bring Google Ruin to DP

    I keep seeing posts and offers to sell signature links in member message posts. Google has a complaint page for sites which do this. They are known to blast PR. I've heard of a PR7 site being zapped to PR0.

    This is CRAZY. Signature link selling is going to get DP in trouble and cost EVERY member the benefit of the signature links because of this kind of abuse. Signature link sales should be prohibited and members who engage in it should be BANNED.

    Google has a complaint page for link sales to gain PR located at https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/paidlinks?hl=en. Lots of members are posting offers to sell or rent signature links.

    This can get DP in a LOT OF TROUBLE and cost all members the benefit of having signature links in the first place. This practice should be prohibited.

    You have posted three similar threads in 3 different places, this is known as cross posting. For the benefit of DP, cross postings causes a lot of duplicate content and makes it frustrating for users to go through them. When members are frustrated they stop visiting and DP's popularity may drop. Perhaps you can refrain from that?

    Nobody sells/buys DP signature links for PR.
    They are for webmaster traffic which DP receives.

    You got me wrong, I am telling you that cross postings normally isn't allowed in the forum. I do not care about your messages. Just that maybe you can take note of the best location to post and just post a thread. What you are doing now is more akin to spamming of the forum.

    People sell their links for a mixture of PR and traffic, more so the latter.

    And if DP does get a PR reduction, the traffic level will remain the same. Shawn doesn't sell links, and I don't think he would be greatly affected by any move.

    I don't know... is Viagra an adult link? I mean it does have other uses apart from sexual. A couple of pills in the evening stops you from rolling out bed in the middle of the night!

    Actually I know that a pet takes Viagra pills, a bitch!

    I don't know the exact reason, but I think that it relates to the effect that was planned for those pills too. The erection thing was a collateral effect, but obviously the main one now.

    But I would consider that link as an adult one, and a little shady and questionable anyway.

    I think signature link sales are fine. It is for traffic purposes mainly, I still believe PageRank is not that important to the people buying/selling links. Webmasters want traffic, which converts to clicks and revenue. PageRank helps besides that I agree, in ranking, which brings more traffic.

    I do not see Google taking any move against this. Even If it does, I think DigitalPoint won't be affected.
