Hi there all, I am not a very technical person and I've search the forum already but some of the discussions are way too technical for my comprehension. What I basically wanted to know was which Shared Hosting provider is the best without over-selling. I mean I read a lot of people singing praises on Hostgater, GoDaddy, 1and1 and etc... but I do find some of the sites hosted to be a tad slow. Also being as big as they are, I am worried support might not be up to expectations. Well I'd appreciate all your input and sharing. Cheers!
Try http://www.ezspl.com. I use their domain registration services and their hosting for all my sites. What I love about them, is their support - and yes, cost is really affordable.
You are in Malaysia, and from our tests, we have found NTT connection is giving better performance for Asian countries, comparing to other networks. Can you let me know more details of your hosting requirements?
There are many hosts out there that dont oversell. However you might want to take into account that some of these might be resellers from another host, and would not be able to do any server management.. A good way to find out is by doing a lookup on one of the hosts IPs and see if their rDNS is configured as theirs.
Thats for the sharing and input guys.. thats the main reason I'm asking here cos nearly everyone here are experienced in one area or the next. I did browse through the BST - Web Hosting forum here and I must say that it made me quite scared reading so many people being burned by new start up hosting companies promising the sky but eventually disappeared into thin air. Hosting will always remain a crucial decision to any webmaster and one most will take serious consideration as it will house our precious business, blogs or whatever internet ventures. Although I am a great supporter for start-ups, web hosting is an area whereby sometimes it is better to go with the established ones. Tough decisions for me on this... and every single min I hold back all my sites are non-existent.
Site5. It's a really professional company that does not oversell. The prices are really low too, and what they offer is great. Also Hostican is good too. I recommend you not go to 1and1.... I've heard mixed reviews about them =/ Jason
Host Gator & Blue Host are the worst servers ever , they suspend the account without giving a notice before , and they reply the ticket after loooooooooooong time after begging with tickets , live chat and telephone calls (which is surely so costy) , I tried both and was not happy , IXwebhosting is better than both , in rate service and options , the only missing service is the fantastico , which i think not that important
This is great guys.. lets keep the sharing going as I'm sure new webmasters would find this very helpful indeed. For my part, I'm very happy with Hostnine.. been with them for over a year now. Recent issue faced was due to my scripts and their support was nothing short of fantastic. So I moved those scripted sites to another hoster I found here in DP (super fast hosting speed so far) and decided to keep my blogs with Hostnine cause I can't really imagine finding a host as reliable and efficient as them. Cheers!
I used to love Site5, but in recent times they've been driving me nuts. I've been down for 10 hours so far this morning, and it's the second time this month. Obviously I'm here deciding where to move to.
I dont know about you guys, but you can www.aqns-hosting.com (the reseller plan) and use it for your sites/site and pay monthly. Its $9.99/Month and you get 21% CPU resource, unlimited space n bandwidth and ofcourse 99.99% uptime! The coolest part of it is that the owner of the host is a regular member in DP and is super supportive!! (His name here is aqnshosting here). You can see my site performance and judge the host yourself... Cheers!
