Scam or no scam, in my humble opinion it's the user experience that counts.

I contemplated using Zango as a monetization method for some of my sites, but was somewhat skeptical of it due to the pros and cons I've heard about it. So I decided to try it out myself before I sent potential customers to their site.

First I queried Google on the word Zango. The first two listings were for the Zango site itself, the third was a Wikopoedia entry for the term. Not a flattering entry by any means, it describes Zango as "known adware and spyware". Not a great start as far as endorsements are concerned!

Nonetheless I proceeded to the site, browsed it and finally decided to check out a video. So this meant I had to download the client.

During client installation the Microsoft Defender software on my XP notebook complained three times about installing adware. Not really the kind of experience I wanted for my site visitors.

After installation I tried to run the video. It went through the motions but then complained that my Firefox browser was missing a plugin for Windows Media Player 11. I installed the plugin but I still couldn't get it to work. So I then switched to Internet Explorer and tried it - this time it just sat there saying it was downloading but nothing happened. Eventually it locked up my computer so I needed to reboot. During the restart the Microsoft Defender again complained about adware and spyware.

This was enough, it was time to go to Contol Panel and use Add-Remove programs to get rid of this stuff. Even then Zango popped up dialog boxes pleading with me to reconsider.

This was a VERY BAD user experience. There is NO way I'd want to put a link or recommend this to visitors to my sites. Sure I might gain 75 cents by sending them to Zango, but I suspect that anyone sharing the same experience I had would resent me for doing this. In regards to building long-term relationships and a good reputation with my site visitors this product is horrible.

I plan on being in this business for the long haul. I feel that the best way to do this is to provide my customers with great value, quality products, excellent customer service and sound advice. I want to build a good reputation with my customers. Zango would destroy this.

Perhaps this would work in the Adult sites market (I'm not personally in this market) where long-term visitor relationships don't usually exist. But not in the mainstream market. In my opinion Zango is not worth it unless you need a quick buck or just don't care about repeat visitors.

    Thoughts?

I recommend using zango on adult websites for that exact reason

zango can be used on any website, even though it works best on adult websites (in my opinion)

I talked about this with one guy several months ago. He told me that he had worked with zangoCash for several months. He had earned a good sum according to his stats, but when he decided to get his money through wire transfer his ZangoCash account has been closed without any notification or explanation, so he was not able to get his money.

    likinisolutions.

Thanks very much for having gone to the trouble.

I have recently registered with Zango (and am in the process of my signup being processed). I was 'sucked in' to ZangoCash due the to high return and mainly after seeing some revenue screenshots of a sale over on SitePoint (which is also being sold here).

Your post has some very good points, one's which I hadn't considered, and definetly ones that I'd have had putting down on paper.

    Much appreciated indeed.

    Regards,

    Rich
