How much for 1 sales page?

I am thinking about hiring a copywriter for a sales page.

But I actually have no clue whatsoever what I would have to pay a copywriter for something like a sales page. It will be one page, but with "a lot" of text.

I understand that some are more expensive than others, but can you give me an estimate of what you think it would cost to get an adequate copywriter to write a sales page?

    Thanks

There's really no right answer. Some who are new might charge very little to a few hundred dollars. Others might charge closer to a thousand, or even several thousand dollars. Others will charge a lower up-front fee, but you'll pay more based on actual conversions from the copy. All you can really do is ask copywriters for quotes (just note that you shouldn't do that in this section of the forum... things like that belong in the Buy/Sell/Trade area only).

A lot of the copywriters I know who write sales pages exclusively charge between $2k-$5k. There are some who go higher but that's the basic range.

They do more than write copy. They research the target market extensively. And it's not something that gets written in a day but rather a week or two. You get a lot more for your money than words on a page.

Actually it is depend on many factors such as

    - price of your product
    - your target potential customers
    - other service including SEO.

Average copywriter will charge around $1K-$2K for professional job. They also will made some study about your product and learn some possible curve for your product. :)

Why do you need a lot of text?

You should consider whipping something up, and then getting critiques from others here. That may be all you need.

And also keep in mind that pictures and colors has a lot do with making a sale.

I agree that I might not need a lot of text.

The reason I am asking, is that I have been looking at how much text other sales pages for IM ebooks got, and I am not sure why they have so much text...

I hever read more than the first lines anyway and then look at the price :)

They are copycats/sheep, they don't question the need for so much text and just go along with the trend.

Besides maybe some writers get paid more for more words i.e on basis of quantity. So the longggggggness continues.....

I like sales pages that are short, succinct and sweet. I am sure nobody reads the usual pageload of "Truths" fully.

It depends on what kind of sales letter you're writing/seeking. I prefer short ones, too. However, there are many copywriters/marketers who would argue vehemently that the longer the copy the more conversions you make. I'm not sure I agree, but to each his own.

It doesn't matter how long or short it is if the sales letter writer is good. It takes as long as it takes. There is a particular sales letter writer who is just so good even I read the long copy.

Some are trying to pattern off swipe files. Others are original and really, really good at it. They make money but the people they write for make more. And people surf differently. They hit on different points in the copy than others do. So while you might skim through subheads, others might read chunks and then go to the end.

    Thanks

I usually never read the long sales letters, I end up reading the beginning, something in the middle and the bottom.
