Hello guys, How to draw large traffic to forums? What are the promotion methods for forums (exept the outdated ones, like registration in directories and buying links from other sites)?
i buy traffic, pay for some signups and posts.. to get the forum active with content.. post up your self.
You need an ulterior way to gain constant traffic to establish a brand new forum. Start a blog, SEO it, add content regularly, market it with social bookmarking and such; and then heavily promote forum registration on your blog.
No matter what you do..at some point..it might be worth the investment to have people post for you....and if you dont think this is effective...just take a peak in the Services section and see just how many need that kind of service. Find similar forums related to yours...see if they are active even before you start. The worst thing...is a forum where noone participates. Do your homework first.
do a huge advertising promotion for a good month or two...you need it to be very active for it to stay active in the beginning
no one will join and post on an empty forum. so you need to create some activities to entice visitors. you can fin forum posting services under Content Creation of this forum, get some paid psots and memberships to get the forum going and to give it a kick start. once you have some members and posts, visitors will join and participate.
I have two options for you. 1. you can find a database for sale, in your niche, and buy it ready with users and posts, its easily can be done just by googeling for lets say "webmaster databse for sale", you will be amazed with the results, you can find a databse of somthing like 20,000 posts and 3000-5000 users for just 30-50 dollars. 2. I take lot's of traffic from craigslist.com, you can bring your traffic from craigslist like i do, you have to learn the basics of craigslist.com, it will take you some time but after a while you will learn great things for getting traffic from craigslist. you have more options just be creative Good luck! You need good key words for your niche. I.E I've managed to tap onto "poker is rigged" key phrase for an online poker forum and it ranks #1 on the search engine. You'd be surprised how much traffic you get. I just need to work on good content/blogs/articles and build a community. I suggest you make 4 or 5 fake accounts and post with them along with some friends and the forum will look really active.
