Any free script to generate google sitemaps from HTML?

Hi

i have sitemap pages in html, over 17,000 links to html pages

im looking for some tool that will generate an xml format to submit to google webmaster tools

Most of the free tools will create sitemap.xml for up to 500 pages. You can try gsitecrawler

 

I would be careful with that. Hopefully you have good non-spammy content. If you add to much too fast then you can get penalized easily.

Plus you might not need to add all of your pages in the sitemap. If you add 500 or so then google should be able to find the rest pretty easily. Especially if it is literally just HTML links in there, no javascript links.

you can also try a1 sitemap generator tool

 

use the python script provided by google in their help pages. once you get it running you can cron it and call it a day. It will actually crawl your site like they would.

it is worth getting that running if you have that many links..

 

any free tools will never give u sitemap of 17000 pages so it's better download xml genrator software and create your sitemap

 

You can try Xenu software which is easily available on net and also it's a free version. It can give you list of all url and also related files.

 

XENU is not for genrating sitemap it is just for checking broken links

 

Thats true. But from your site it collects all pages url and related file url also.
So from that collection you can make sitemap easily.

 

yeah it's true that we can collect url from xenu but it is very lengthy process creating xml file and adding 17000 pages free tools are tools which are generating xml code for all urls like http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ but it has restriction of 500 pages

 

You can try A1 Sitemap Generator. 17000 URLs will be no problem at all (!)
