The automated valuations are totally useless IMO. If DigitalPoint was for sale though, I'd probably be the snarky guy who puts in the $1 bid knowing that it will actually sell it the millions and I would be subject to ridicule following the sale.
I may not have enough but I'll sure bid $50000 if it is up for auction just for sake of having feeling that I do bid on famous DP sale (knowing it will sell way more than my bid) if things go wrong and i do win, ehh.. shoot me a negative feedback anytime and report as nonpaying bidder
Well if DP would get hit if: They removed revenue sharing or made all the links non follow and dis aloud link sales. Yet as long as these 2 are there, people will continue to use DP , its like why post at other webmaster forums, when you can post at DP and get $$ as well?
I'd give Shawn my PSP in return. He could have my alarm clock too, although it goes off at the wrong times.
Everyone's trying to get some ridicule.. that's why they say that I wonder if Shawn will respond to this thread... would like to know his thoughts on this.
I would take a $500,000 loan from the bank to buy DigitalPoint if I could ! Maybe it would be expensive to run, but the amount of fun you can have with a community like DP is just priceless. DP is amazing for a member, imagine it in the Admin booth, making decisions etc! I would personally charge $5.99 fee per month, to get rid of most of the scammers and get a great smaller community.
If this forum was run with a fee, there'd be no more good forums out there that you can find information on. How many other forums are there that are as active as DP and you can find lots of answers floating around on? A fee for the forums would be a terrible idea. If this forum became paid I'd be outta here.
Site is well worth over $19.5M... Don't like to see it though in hands of other people. I like the current owner. If he sells it we'll be swarming with ads for sure!
Shawn Hogan – DigitalPoint.com $10,000 per month Back in January of 2005 the New York Times had an article about AdSense, featuring Shawn Hogan, founder of DigitalPoint. The article states that Mr. Hogan makes $10,000 per month from Google AdSense using a very unique revenue sharing model. Google pays Digital Point about $10,000 a month, depending on how many people view or click on those ads, said Shawn D. Hogan, the owner and chief technology officer of Digital Point.
