ACP = Admin Control Panel There are lots of tuts already about this. Check Here for some! The only thing I do not like so far about 2.5 is the way code can be stripped from the sidebar widgets when moving them around.. The old side widgets always held on to the code and kept it in the widget, even if moving a widget in or out of the live sidebar. Aside from that 2.5 is doing okay for me. Boulder
i have problem with comment / comment moderation notification. WP 2.5 didnt send to my email if there is new comment or new comment in moderation. all my setting is set to send email upon comments. but wp 2.5 did not sent it. nobody from the wordpress forum help me on this. im not sure what is the actual problem.
Hmm I faced a similar issue but it was regarding permalinks... All you have to do is "RETYPE" the email address where it will send the email and Save/UPDATE that page AGAIN! Save/Update that page again is the key theme here.
i tried your method here. doesnt seem to work. let me try to change the email address to something else.. be right back.
Bro best of luck then! Also check in your hosting Cpanel if your mail server is down... I hate these issues... so acky!!
too bad still doesnt work even i change the email address to other email. so then, i believe i have to manually login to the dashboard to see incoming comments.
Nope that shouldnt be a problem bro. I am using Gmail as well... Hmmm weird... Are you sure you checked all the "send mail when comment is in moderation blah blah" comment options?
I have to say, i was very anxious/nervous about doing this upgrade. I always try to wait a few days and read the WP forums to see how bad it is, and this one looked bad at first. I have the WP auto upgrade plugin, so i upgraded that to the newest version first, version 1.1 i think, then did the 2.5 upgrade. The plugin worked well, except i had to enable all my plugins manually after the upgrade. Nothing of consequence though. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it went. I REALLY like the automatic plugin upgrade function in WP 2.5. I think that alone is worth the upgrade. So far, my only complaint is that the backend/dashboard seems slow compared to the older version. One plugin that i'm using that helps out in that regard is the Wordpress admin drop down menu - (http://planetozh.com/blog/my-projects/wordpress-admin-menu-drop-down-css/) That plugin makes some nice ajax-y drop down menus and saves a ton of clicks when maneuvering around the backend. So, all in all, i'd say it's good so far.
The best part of 2.5 is the auto plugin upgrade though... yeah the current interface seems to be fractionally slower than the previous one. But its nice and worth the time.
Since I started using 2.5 I get an error when making a post. Once I have submitted it I get this error; Then I have to go into the draft of it that gets saved and then update it and Publish it that way. It's a real pain...
There's a big reaction regarding this over at the WordPress support forums. Check it out there. In other news, nice avatar - lovin' the Offspring
its weird that some do not have problem with it. some do have problem. my case, i update my wp using the automatic upgrade plugin, which upgrade mine from 2.3 to 2.5. do u think this plugin make my 2.5 do not work perfectly? do u think i should backup everything and fresh install manually without the automatic upgrade plugin?
You should change it Van1198... 2.3 is outta date once you update it there are no more "security threats" for you now lol.
