Content may be important, but its still next to useless if you don't have people visiting your site. As they say, content may be king, but traffic is supreme.
good posting here, I think they are equally important plus since they go hand in hand arguing about which is more important is useless
dont forget if you have quality contents people will find you regardless and pure rich quality and quantity traffics can be gained.
And perhaps, marketing is the queen? Marketing makes all the temporary traffic but contents give value and make people stick to your site in the long run.
Content is king, but SEO is the queen What will a "uber high great awesome the best quality website" do if it has no visitors. A website needs to be seen first, before it can be judged by its quality.
Marketing and Content go hand in hand in my opinion to create a smooth salesprocess. Since we're in business I honestly think that a complete sales process is king.
I think and know, that content is king BUT, if you bring traffic, and you have good content, then your traffic should bring more traffic, don't think the internet is diffrent from the street, ear to ear dude, if you have good stuff to offer, everybody will come to get it, and if it's free, double all what i said.
But what if you have a great content and nobody knows about your site and what you offer. Marketing brings them and let the world know what you do. Is very important. Kingsley
content is king its absolutely right and there must be something on your site for visitors and there is no doubt that linking is also an important factor in SEO dont leave this factor it plays an important role link a queen in SEO Cheers
I found, in my experience, that sites with great content are largely ignored because of poor SEO. With my site, originally a PR2, we increased content and improved the quality. More attention paid to the Title tags, the metas, and increasing the quality of backlinks with anchor text, just to name a few improvements. Now I'm a PR3 and I've been getting e-mails from other companies asking me to link to them. They already have a link put up for me before they e-mailed me......I'm a guy but I'd imagine it would be like being everyone's choice for prom date...LOL
It's obvious you have to have both, but you definitely can't just say "content is king", because without marketing no one will see your content!!
exactly my point. it's like saying air or water to survive till the oldest age. I have blogged about which is more important in detail here: Which is more important? SEM or Content?
Some of it will depend on the market that you are in. I know of some sites that have very little content and miking millions vs sites that have lots of content and are going broke. It all comes down to what you are trying to accomplish
