A friend just got ripped off - Paypal confirmed she'd bought something she hadn't. She's getting it back but how did this happen? How common is it? I read on here about a few problems with Paypal about a year ago but there didn't seem to be any recently. Has Paypal got better or worse in your opinion? How do you keep your Paypal safe?
I had a horrible experience with a confirmed buyer initiating about $400 in chargebacks for an Ebay purchase. I provided Paypal with all documentation, including a confirmed delivery. It took forever (over 6 months) for me to get my money back from them. It's just not worth it!
The charge backs are the worst. I had someone charge back after they had a download for over 3 months and just had to pay them to get account unfrozen instead of wait for appeal
Yes but you DID get your money. Paypal problems are common if only because they do millions of transactions a year. Percentage wise the amount of problems is VERY low.
I too have problem with paypal. Sold a few domains, transferred the domains over to the buyer. Now I got a dispute case in paypal. I am just hoping it dun take too long for them to resolve the case. Need the $$$ for other purchases.
It's the price of doing business online. You have to figure in a certain percentage of loss, jsut like stores do for shoplifters. I always refund people right away if they ask for a refund (doesn't happen much) I have never had someone do a chargeback yet.
