I don't know if im the only one who ever faced this problem or others have faced it to but my rank ( www.ziltech.info) was close to 2.5 million . Now it is almost 4 million and has fallen down greatly. My traffic has increased greatly during the past 3-4 weeks. Before that i got about 2-3 uv and about 10 pages per day and now i get about 60uv and 500 pages per day. I don't get it, how can the rank fall if the sites popularity is increasing? alexa rankings based on people with alexa toolbars accessing to your sites via alexa search or through alexa directory. if people directly type in your url, alexa ranking will go down, and alexa's seem to be useless.
Wrong. Alexa ranking depends on anyone with the Alexa toolbar accessing your site in ANY way whatsoever, not just from search or directory listings. Perhaps your new visitors don't use the toolbar? I really can't explain this - it's extremely improbable that none of your new visitors have the toolbar. Just wait and see if it goes down. Remember - Alexa isn't really a reliable traffic measure.
