Please comment of these marketing projects: PRESS MARKETING In a period of 2 weeks (the last 300,000 will go out in 4 days time) I've managed to get press releases (with colour images) into 500,000 distribution made up of free regional newspapers and magazines. I've had spaces from 1/4 page to full page. It hasn't cost anything. What increase do you reckon this sort of press coverage would bring your way if it was your website/product or service being promoted? How much would this be worth to you - what might you pay per 1,000 paper impressions? TELEPHONE MARKETING When I work as a tele-marketer for PR, Creative and Events companies I make up to 80 calls a day and get an average of 6 qualified leads from that (plus I schedule and reschedule at least 70% of all calls). How much would you/do you pay per qualified lead? E-MAIL MARKETING? I'm in the process of sending out 3,000 emails to the opted in list I've built over the last 18 months. It is to promote a love event. What sort of response have you generated per 1,000 emails sent? If someone offered you some space in these emails (mainly business people with an interest in theatre) what would you pay for that (per 1,000)?
Ya know..maybe Im reading this wrong...but it sounds like your trying to sell something to us instead of seeking advice. If you have that large of a list...and youve done some some tracking....its not uncommon for each subscriber to be worth about a dollar per month if youve cultivated the list.
Maybe he is just doing marketing research so he can understand the going rate value, maybe not. He should do a survey if the previous.
I'm actually trying to assess the value of my work and wanted a discussion with those who do similar or have thought about doing so. I did plan to add results I see from 500,000 distribution in press and magazines as I'd never done this before and thought it would be of interest to some DP members. I am interested in receiving feedback - most DP members involved in marketing employ emarketing only and I'm interested in what they have to say. My email list is not for sale. Please comment on the questions in the original post as I did wish to use this thread as an informal survey.
The press marketing I mentioned increased unique visitors by 50-70% for 3-4 weeks. It didn't lead to many ticket sales though - so it seems to have been good for virtual but not actual visitors. The email marketing generated about 50 website visits per 1,000 and led to only 6 per 1,000 ticket sales.
