i think stumbleupon is the best social bookmarking tool in terms of marketing..i guess lot of people cry about it not giving traffic is because they don't know how to use it...the secret is your ratio of pages you liked:discoveries should be massive...try this...create a new account or if u have an account without any or maybe one or two sites being submitted..u could use it...'i like' about hundred pages and submit one of your site's urls...you'll get atleast 30 visitors...considering i get around 60 visitors currently on average a day i think its pretty much worth it.....i doubt you get that many from digg unless you make it to the frontpage.

    what do you guys think??

P.S. not to forget the interesting, innovative sites you come across when stumbling :D

I think you're thinking small - getting 30 to 60 visitors a day is peanuts.

ya i noe..but initially when u r getting 60 visitors and get a boost of 30 visitors it is somethin..and thats just with hundred stumbles..and also i submitted a boring post of mine...if it was an interesting post i would hav got more votes which would hav led to thousands of visitors..i just discovered this so with a little more stumbling next time i'd submit a more interesting post...

you wouldn't get that many visitors with digg and other social bookmarking websites anyway unless it makes it to the popular page and gets plenty of votes..

Not only is 30-60 peanuts (unless you're a small site like mine) but the traffic usually has NO interest in your site.

Not worth it unless you want to bump up your alexa rating.

Stumbleupon is far from the best. If anything it's just a novelty act. Furl and del.icio.us are the two best ones in my eyes.

The question is does SU traffic convert into clicks or sales? From my experience SU traffic does not convert well at all.

For me, Digg works much better but Digg traffic is targeted much better.

be sure to check out Faves.com (dofollow) and Diigo.com (nofollow), those are also good for targeted traffic. Even if you get a handful of hits per day from them, it's not bad!
