Movie: Sicko!

Spent 2 hours for watching a film and the tears are almost running from my eyes. Can you guess what type of film it is? A drama, romantic or Korean film? Nope, just a documentary film, a really moved film that I recommend you to watch. Maybe your way of seeing the world may change a bit after seeing the film: Sicko.

Medical treatment, education must be free!

If you have watched the film, share your thought!

From Michael Moore isn't it? lol Quite a caracter huh? I'm European but Michael Moore is a pain in the ass, just see/talks about what he wants. IF you enjoyed Sicko, maybe you should check some of the things he said in the movie that... well, aren't quite true. Just google it a bit.

Yep, Micheal Moore, to date sicko is the only film I watch from him.
By the way, what are not quite true you mention? I think that his point is quite humanity, right? And the movie get quite a positive reputation on IMDB, 8.6 if I am correct,

I liked the movie. It was really sad. I know a lot of the things in that movie are true from the American perspective because I've lived through it and am paying for it.
My health insurance dropped me when I had my miscarriage and then said they'd consider covering me again for $1700 a month. Now that I have no health insurance, I do a lot of prevention because I can't afford to get sick.

@melbel: So sad, in my country we don't have a social heath care system either. It's clearly unfair that a sick doesn't have medical treatment if he's poor, just let him die?

Exactly. Moore takes a lot of liberties pushing his own agenda. It's not a bad movie, you just can't swallow everything he says as truth ...

I go back and forth on Moore. I like his intentions but I hate feeling like I am getting BS from the left. I guess if you watch these movies and FOX news you should get the truth somewhere in the middle. I do hate feeling like a child between two conflicting sources!

I agree that not everything must be free, but how can a country let his citizen sick or die because he cannot afford it? And about education, if anyone have chance to get to the knowledge, then it will benefit us all. I think that to get knowledge and and to be took care of is the basic right of human, especially in a modernized country.

There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch, huh? But now you are getting a lot of free stuff on the Internet - free search, free email space,...right?

Moore does nothing but lie. The majority of what he says are misquotes, fabrications, and outright lies. Sicko is ridiculous and nobody in their right mind believes him.

Plus nobody lets patients die even if they cannot afford the health care. America has a huge number of free clinics and our government already spends more per person with health care then most other nations.

@ForumFocus.net, Hmm, I am not American and I don't know the situation there. And if things are as you said so that I am glad to know that. But I don't believe that all the thing in the film are lies, that's a documentary anyway, with real people, so that you mean these people in the films who tell lies?

Yes everything he says are lies. It is not a documentary it is a way method he uses to try and promote the democrats.
    This is what he does.
He takes footage of people and puts them in areas way out of context to make a point. Same with footage of events and things.

In bowling for columbine he shows a space rocket and takes it out of context to make it look like a missile and openly lies about it. In his 9/11 movie he took a quote from a soldier saying he loves his country. Edited the tape and made it seem as if the guy hated the troops and America.

Pure entertainment value. Can't see how the sick ones he had in that doco faked being sick or faked not being looked after.

I think MM made a point about society and how society looks at things and values those things. BFC highlighted how stupid and careless it was to sell ammunitions in a store that mainly sells groceries to every type of person.

I must make some research about him and his methods of making films, I am not argue about him. Anyway, I am agree with the point he gave in the film that everyone should be taken care of. If American health care system is already good, then I am so happy.

    Some reviews from CNN
    http://www.cnn.com/2007/HEALTH/06/28/sicko.fact.check/index.html?eref=rss_health
"Michael Moore has been at the center of several controversies, mostly as a result of his political views and/or directing style".[from wiki]. I have no opinion, but I feel ForumFocus are quite agressive about MM?

I cannot stand the guy to be honest. I would be very happy if he were tried for treason and executed. Which should technically be done but oh well those days are over.

    You are really aggressive,
I found that most people and critics have high opinion on that film: 93% positive on rottentomatoes

Well you also have to remember that the people reviewing those sites are people from Hollywood and Hollywood has a long history of betraying America and supporting our enemies.

I don't wanna turn this topic into a political one. I just wanna talk about the humanity in the film. Suppose you see the film the first time, does that move you? If not, you must be a cold-hearted
