I have a very, very good website idea that I need help on. I want to find a small group of people who own a business/LLC who are website developers to join up with me to get this done professionally. I have talked with a group of people I know, and they really like my idea but can't work on it b/c they are so busy right now. How can I go about finding a business/group to do this with me? I want a professional group of people for this, not just some random 3 people on a forum. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I'd agree with NDA, but also are you outright saying you need devs, as in looking for devs here? DP has forum for people looking for services. Maybe post general requirements for your site without giving out the idea in the post and also look for people with positive iTrader ratings.
Try freelance sites like elance.com and scriptlance.com, there are others. You can also try craigslist but you will get a lot of amateur web designers emailing you if you post on craigslist. It may also be a good idea to have them sign a non-competitive form in addition to the non-disclosure agreement.
You won't want to hear this but the best way is to find people at a forum. Here's a article for DP I wrote on how to secure a partnership online. Its worth a read for you, FOR SURE. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=760871 Using this method will secure a higher chance of survival of your idea if you are planning on working with a team.
I'm in the same boat. Ruffneck seems like the type of person who might get the job done. I need a professional looking site for a new venture. It must have unlimited page capacity as the business will grow the site. It would also need high quality navigation elements and a search this site button.
So do a sizable portion of the people on the internet. It's not a good sign when people you know are "busy". Any businessperson worth their weight will make time for groundbreaking ideas. What are the differences between 3 random people on a forum teaming up with you on this, & 30 random people on a forum telling you who to look for ? Hope this helps.
I get this all the time, people posting they have the next big idea, but wont even fork out even $20 for the slitest code snippet. If your idea is so big and great, why don't you save your money and hire a freelancer or web designer to make it for you?
another dreamer, wanting a designer to do hours/days/weeks of work for $0. makes me sick. if it was a genuine great idea you would secure funding and pay someone what they are worth! probably broke as a joke and dreaming about being rich save some money, get a loan, write a business plan, and hire someone to get the job done for you, or learn how to do it yourself
i totally agree with will1000, if that was a great idea you wouldn't share it, but it might be an idea to get rich so you want partners :|
No rockstar developer is going to partner up with a stranger who has a "big idea" to be a partner (ie - no pay) ... You might get a few hundred PM's from folks interested in finding out this great idea though... ;-) Best advice: Hire a web dev company or free-lance developer.
If it is really a "big idea", sell your car or take a loan on your house. And then hire a team to build your project.
I've been looking for years for ONE good company, or programmer. I have the cash, and can pay for a good coder. However, many are lazy or take on more work then they can do and hit you with all the, 'designer classics'.... internet out, computer blew up, granny died three times while working on your project, etc, etc. When you FIND a good programmer. Hold on to them. 90% of them out there on the CL/forums/freelance are jokes. MAKE SURE you look at their previous ratings, and work. Especially those who do nickel and dime projects, and then big on your $3-5k project. If they haven't done a site in the thousand(s) of dollar mark. The odds are there is a reason. I have spent the past two weeks going through about 150 programmers. This week I am on round three narrowing that 50 down to a few who really are legit, and have the skills to do the work.
you are so cool. i mean soooooooooo cool. man i wish i could be like you you have the ability to narrow down and pick and choose... oh my gosh!!!! i am so envious you must me so big and famous, you must be a rock star......can i have your autograph please...no? please...please...please? such a bigshot like you

never work with other in partner and as all state here 'Work a lot and harder to mek enough money' After that find a good programmer and move on.
