What's up everybody. So, I just joined this site a few moments ago. Looks like there's a ton of useful stuff on here. I only got the whole notion of affiliate marketing a couple weeks ago, and I've been reading a whole lot on the topic.

Right now, I'm determined to utilize ADSENSE. But I just don't know where exactly to go. So, if you've been successful with adsense, what was your first step?

Before you can use adsense , you must make sure that you have a website with content and doesn't have any adult/illegal material... try starting out with a blog :) and remember that if you want to earn from adsense try to make it relevant to some high paying keywords....

I have a few questions. Sorry if they sound too basic.

How often would I have to update my blog?
What if I'm not the best writer/I hate to write ?
What exactly do you mean when you say high-paying keywords? Are you referring to keywords searched on google used to come to my site?

updating your blog as often as you can will produce the best results because everyone knows that with lots of good content, traffic will follow...

if you don't like or aren't good at writing then you can always hire somebody to write articles for you... generally if your blog is about something you love, then it will be easy for you to write about it... there are members on dp who are selling their freelance service in the TSB section.

when i say high paying keywords... you said that you want to earn from adsense... and in order for your website to show adsense ads that pay more then your website would have to be relevant to those keywords...

    hope that helped

Okay that helped. But what differentiates how much a keyword's worth from how much the next keyword's worth? Am I correct to think that less-searched keywords are paid more? Or how does it go? Thanks.

I would think that it is reflected on the competition of advertisers...

    Hi mplswifi, thanks.

So is it safe to say that the more competition there is, the lower I get paid per click? But then again, if there's only little competition of advertisers, wouldn't that mean less people are searching for it? And therefore, less traffic? Thanks.

I actually believe that the more competition between advertisers then keywords are higher...

there is a lot of competition these days between foreign exchange companies and in result... the keywords are price higher... they are paying more for clicks and publishers are receiving more per click....

anyways... Im not 100% certain, but I remember that google adsense has a policy that if you submit a website and it gets declined for adsense then you cant re-submit it ... dont know if its permanent or not.. ill look into it later... so before you apply to adsense, make sure your website is ready and meets google's standards
