I would like to share an site which is been launched by Yahoo! specially for the womans. Yahoo seems to implement new strategies for making new sites for there visitors.

The site is named as Shine this is another big news after there launch of social bookmarking site which is also running good. Hope these sites launched by Yahoo do good.

Women are shoppers, and generally control the spending of a household, especially when it comes to the children, and family matters.
It's a good move, and very smart. Men buy on impulse, women buy after investigation. They are more thorough.

There are now more single, independent, working women with good incomes, and more disposable cash than ever before, and as a whole, tend to have more in the bank, and better credit.
This is old news (women shoppers) , it's about time someone got into the game and worked this angle.

Maybe that's the reason why Yahoo is focusing on women. So that women can enjoy the world of internet too through their services.

Stop reading old statistics, and look at the world around you.
Female traffic is not low on the internet, there are just fewer sites for them of interest.

The net started traditionally by going after easy targets...Men looking at women, but those days are over.
You have to employ the same marketing skills online, as you do in the physical world.

Overstock, Walmart, Target, and Ebay, have already figured this out, just by looking at who is in the stores more, and who controls the checkbook, and credit cards.

Well said, hmnsfield, and in fact other sites have already identified the female market as one worth pursuing - look at the network of teamsugar sites http://teamsugar.com/, and the shiny sites http://www.shinyshiny.tv/ (hmmm...yahoo likes them so much they've taken part of their name)
    - and then there are all the mother and baby sites...

Google may be number 1 for search traffic and advertising, but Yahoo has been developing some very interesting , user friendly apps for everyday users. It's no secret that out of all of the free email services available, they have more users.
There must be a reason for that.

Got to love marketers. Never liked Yahoo, always looked at their site as just another spam site with useless tools and search engine that cannot find anything relevant. I would imagine that the only people that would use Yahoo is if it a default page of their browser because they signed up for ATT Yahoo DSL. :D

Maybe I should start designing sites for "woman"

You really should take another look at Yahoo. I thought the same thing until a week ago when I started looking around to see why I don't get much traffic from them, and I was amazed to find that they have added a lot of tools and services to their arsenal , especially in the area of content tools.

    They have my respect again.:D
