    hello,

    according to wikipedia.org,

the most expensive public sale of an Internet domain name to date, according to DNJournal, is porn.com which was sold in 2007 for $9.5 million cash.

$9.5 million for domain name??

Actually someone should go update wiki then. Cause Sex.com is the highest.

I think it was like 12 million, or was it 14 million? Hmm?

You know what I find interesting about some of these obvious one word domain names...

they arent so obvious to search engines. e.g. I never thought about using something like a mail.com untill by mistake I typed it into my address bar while wanting to check my hotmail. But i see mail.com is third in google though.

So It's all for the long run, 10 years something like pizza.com should be huge.

If I could go back in time to 1998 when the internet started.. I'd register all of those domains.

Then I'd be sleeping on $100 bill lined bed sheets and watch a 100" Plasma Screen TV

Most words that are popular can make serious money.

I think as time goes on, these records will be broken quiet easily.

We're talking about an all cash deal here for a domain name. There's a difference for those posting above regarding sites like YouTube and such.
