I just got a new guitar and I'm trying to learn how to play it. At first I thought I could play it in no time but my golly! It's been a month and I only know how to play single strings and I can only play 1 song "leaving on a jet plane" haha! Do you know of any site that would help a newbie like me to learn how to play the guitar? I've checked out lots of sites but I still can't keep up. I don't want to enroll to any guitar lessons either. I only know 5 chords, G, D, A, E, C major and that's it! LOL and it takes awhile before I could switch chords too. Any tricks perhaps? Pls pls pls help me!!!

Is it really worth to go through it getjimmy Please share your personal experience in this if any. I am planning to buy a guitar for myself (thinking to join guitar lesson class for that). DON.
I would buy a paper book and almost definetly get lessons. I have been learning for around 8 years with around 4 hours of lessons a week, it all takes time but you need to practise, don't expect to be able to do it all in a day. It is like learning a language.
Ok i sent to your email. No idea man,i purchased it from ebay for one of my friend,3-4 months back.let me know if u also need it.
When I started out, I bought some chord guides, You can actually find it in most songbooks or song hits. This way you will have copies with all the chords. Once you have it, simply find a song in the songbook that you are familiar with and use your chord guide. Just one song at a time. It would be better to have one song to learn rather than memorize all chords without playing a single song. This way, you can appreciate more your progress. Good luck!
I've been going to lessons at a local college for about a year or so now. I still wouldn't quite call myself a guitar player but it is a lot of fun leaning with a group of people who are all at the same level.
No one's mentioned Youtube! Search for Justin Sandercoe on there, probably hard to beat for beginner lessons without paying for them. If you want to ask specific questions about playing guitar then try here fretmeup.com/lessons/
well go find a professional tutor as i believe they will teach you better , ebook wont clear you doubts and and neither they can watch you play or what mistake you are doing
Heh, I just ordered his blues tutorial dvd on impulse - it'll give me something to do over the summer when my guitar classes don't run.
