I honestly tired of these questions related to niches... Any site will earn as long as you have traffic... I don't see any importance of having a good niche for I ran around 130 sites since 2002 in different niches and the result does not change... I tried legal, mesothelioma, credit, etc etc..tried everything else.. Traffic and placement are what important and not the niche...
It is natural for a person to shoot a question about the type of niche when some one claims that he / she had earned xx dollar in a day or xx dollar for a click. As you said, you can earn a lot provided you have the right kind of traffic but niche plays a major role in the earning, imo. For E.g. say I have 10 clicks and if the niche is poor, then my earning would be 10 x 0.1 dollar = 1 dollar If it is a high paying niche, then it would be 10 x 1 = 10 dollar
I don't buy that for a second. I have sites that get 2000UV per day and make $3 and others that get 2000UV per day that make $60. The niche helps.
Right, certain niches can really help you earn more, but I will only concentrate to those I have knowledge in.
Make websites about stuff you know about and love. Mesothelioma and stuff like that can pay pretty well, but if you write stuff about things you are knowledgeable about, it will be easier to drive traffic to your site and in turn make more profit through Google Adsense and other forms of monetization.
A niche choice is important, so many other factors come into being successful with a niche or not, the quality of your site, ability to rank, to get decent traffic, to sustain.
High paying niches can be risky.. if you donot produce sufficient conversions from your high cpc ads, your account could be considered a 'threat/risk to adword members" and banned. Source: common sense
Your post doesn't make any sense at all. You said, any site will earn as long as you have traffic. In my opinion, the niche you market is your gateway to almost everything else; this is not only important, but the most important factor. Have you ever read of affiliates with thousands of impressions and even clicks but few conversions? It's because there is a disjunction between the niche and advertisements placed. Naturally, people write about top niches and with tips because it's all about demand, competition, and profits. You could promote one niche with low profit potential and high competition or alternatively; a relatively unexploited one very low numbers of highly targeted traffic for big commissions. When building affiliate marketing profits your niche and traffic should be one in the same or alternative; you pick a cross or sub niche with appeal. In sum, people are asking about niches because this is an affiliate marketing forum.
"Traffic and placement are what important and not the niche" I don't agree. Some Niche will have much greater CTR compared to other Niche.
I'm tired same you, I have blogger up to 30 blog and I promote by submit to than 100 directories now. But I receive $0.8/day. I'm feel bad on today.
it's the debate about doing something you love VS doing something just to make cash. i say stick to what you know. i would not want to go to a website to research legal advice (as an example) when it is being run by somebody who's put up stolen content just to make cash. it's this kind of behaviour that degrades the Internet as a whole.
problem is with somthing you love: You want to make it top quality and people dont want to click an ad when your site covers that section (kind of like my student site)
