I've been checking the top 100 Vb sites according to Big-Boards.com. I'm trying to see if a Vb site can be made to look less like ever other Vb site. So far, the most dramatically different to a Vb typical forum I found was http://www.motor-talk.de/forum.html According to Big-boards.com this is a Vb site. Can someone confirm that or if it isn't tell me what software that forum runs on. Thx.
Checked the site and It doesn't seem a vBulletin to me. I would say its a custom made script but I might be wrong!
Yah, I'd tend to agree with you on that, but since I know little to nothing about what can be done to make Vb look different I was prepared to be impressed. I guess Big-boards just has a typo or maybe they just changed. Here's a related question: (I guess I can hijack my own thread) Is it possible to make a Vb site look like motor-talk's forum?
There is a possibility it is running a highly modified version of vBulletin, did see couple of thing in the code which look like vb code.
Thanks for all the feedback. So, I have to imagine that motor-talk.de is the holy grail, in terms of being a versatile forum platform but with the modification to make it look clean/pretty and very much unlike a typical vb site. If it were easy, I guess every one would have done the same. So since the site is rather unique, I presume that it is not easy to achieve this hybrid. What would be involved in achieving a similar site. Meaning, that if I had the funds to bank roll such a project (which I do), what specialists would I need to go from out the box vb to a modified, super-glossy, site like motor-talk.de's forums?
If you have a good budget my team of programmers can do something like that! Note that it is something costy! Good Luck Olgi
