Step 1, learn to develop a website or maintain and host a blog. I will tell you next step after you have done Step 1.
I have good command on Photoshop, so I have developed a site where I have written a lot of tutorials for Photoshop, and it also includes a step by step guide to learning Photoshop. Since it lists tutorials & guide, so it gets a lot of natural links, in the end good PR. I have then linked to similar or related affiliate sites. For Affiliate review sites. Pick any product, like Hitachi 1TB hard drive. Do a little research online, then pile that information into your review (write your own review, don't just copy others content). You do not need to own the product to review it.
wow...I'm 22 as well...did you go to college at all??...if i was making this kind of money, i probably wouldnt know what to do with it...lol...since those recommendations might not be allowed...maybe you can PM them to me..I would really appreciate it...what would you say, would be the first step or first aspect of affiliate marketing that i should learn in order to get on the ball rolling??? Thanks for any advice
Congrats and thanks for the inspiration! Sorry if you answered this already, I didn't seem to see it - Do you use any sort of article submission service or software, or do you manually submit your articles? Any advice on article directories that don't get fussed about articles that have affiliate links in them? Seems like most of the ones I find prohibit it. TIA
I did go to college, but didn't complete my studies. Don't have any Higher degree First Step is to learn to make a website of course , If you already have it, then create a separate page for a single product or service which is related to the site, write a review, create prominent links to store/product. Try to hide these links from Search Engines (using nofollow or php redirect). Link that page from popular pages of your site or from other sites you own. Then Wait for SEs to catch up.
I do some times manually submit articles, but I do not include Affiliate links in them. I include links to my affiliate sites to increase PR.
good job nabs Can you outline the benefits that CJ has over, say, ClickBank? It's obviously bigger, and I assume that the products are quite higher quality. Anything else though? I'm considering making the switch to either CJ or Azoogle maybe, from CB. I hear that compared to CJ and Azoogle, CB is peanuts. Just want to see why Thanks for the thread, very informative. -Sasha
This is not Contextual advertising where you replace an ad unit with another. What you should be looking for are the Stores which you like to promote. If I'm looking to promote a specific store, then it doesn't matter which Affiliate Network it is affiliated with.
Hey Nabs. Thanks for the insight and Q&A. Had a few questions that I wanted to throw in there as well. 1. PPC - With the affiliate programs that allow direct, deep linking to products on their site - do you find PPC works better direct linking to the advertiser's site, or buying the traffic to your landing page first, before sending them on to the advertiser? 2. How come some of the non-noobs in this thread (yourself, Patchkaa, spyxx) don't use a signature block for backlinking? The links appear to have nofollow turned off. Is it because people don't want other affiliate marketers to see what they're promoting?
Oops. 2 more questions 3. You're getting a lot of traffic. Do you ever use Adsense to monetize as well or does that just take away from your CJ commissions? 4. If you ever did do the ebook route, could you not make some serious cash through affiliate links in the book. If you made a site from scratch, would that be a best-seller, or a career killer, giving away trade secrets. Cracking the code, so to speak. Thanks for the insight.
Do these templates include web hosting. I just browsed the briefly. I kinda think it might be a lttle to much script to handle write no. Still only blooging and learning a little java and hot mail. Only problem with bloging on blogspot is setting up a store? Can't script my ads side by side. Well you might be able to but I'm still in the copy and paste. I try to duck in and get some tut's from time to time but the only thing I can do w/o a notepad is <href>. Funny huh! I sent you pm Can you tell me a little more about front page? Is it the same one I have from microsoft? -Sean-
