Members of DP interested purchase cheap hosting service and purchase from this section but many times tricked by fraudulents. They banned but it's not seolve coz open new account and start new scam. Let's clarify trustable hosting providers. Who wants to participate this poll only write dp username below this post. I will start poll within 5 days.
good idea , is too much , i saw only in time who is trustable and who's not , the most dangerous are the "unlimited bandwidth" for 1 $ , is just impossible to make profit, the only way to make profit at this price is to scam people or to offer very poor quality and a lot of downtime, prices under 5 $ are suspicious in most of the cases
We can't stop scammers as long as the buyers don't have the information listed in this thread, http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=762254 in their mind. Those may help but no guarantee.
You should been carefully when you choose your host. You cant choose a host,that is running by 1 person,for 1 month. Try to investigate into this,and never but never,do not buy unlimited offers,1$/Year offer,etc Some hosts(or dp usernames) that looks professional in my eyes,personal: iwhic,connecthost,lacehost,cloak host,webhosting.uk.com,serverpronto,eukhost Have a nice day!
I would say check their profile before purchase. see how long they have been in DP, how long they have been in hosting business. check their hosting information, check their offer, also check their iTrader, posts and reputation I would say check everything you can about the seller until you are sure they are trustable. There are many DP members that trustable and offer a good hosting here. spend a bit of your time will save your $$.
friend i am not agree with u because many single person have dedicated server for their personal site. if they don't need such amount of space and resources then they can sell it. so i think ur wrong many of them are trusted
Just a thought - Every service provider will mention his/her name and I believe there are 100s of them. I doubt if you'll be able to start the poll with all the participants.
i don't know if the profile will help , i saw people with over 40 itrader as sellers for some services becoming scammers . + maybe is possible to buy a good profil and come here to spam people , everything is possible . I think the best way to avoid this is by asking as many questions as possible about their service . 1 person can run a small hosting service , not "company" , i will not say company , because a company should be registered and pay taxes in the country where is located , have a location somewhere, street e.t.c , or how to say... to be approved to offer hosting by the law, in my country this is a company ... not private offers . Everything else are only private offers that looks like companies because DP is a free market
People get scammed because they don't do enough research. Most people go with someone that has 50 posts offers unlimited everything for 3 USD for a lifetime. Bottom line is search around look for reviews, when the company was started. Google is your friend . - Prilep
thing thing is with small operations, you cant guarantee they will even be running by the end of your hosting agreement! IMHO i would go with a big company, worth the few extra $$ Hostgator i feel is the best
Some users prefer to go with smaller companies as they don't need all that space and bandwidth that bigger companies offer. - Prilep
true, but with it you can host a large amount of domains and sites, you may only need one hosting package for all your sites
