My client registered dollarsurbanwear.co.uk and shortly afterwards someone registered dollarsurbanwear.com We have tried repeatedly contacting the registrant as listed in whois but they have never returned our emails or calls. What is the proceedure to get the domain off of them? Can any of you trace the company that they registered the domain name through? Thanks in advance, James.
Its not necesarily a company, many people register domains and park them to get money.. You could do a whois lookup but other han that im not sure
File a UDRP or a court suit, be ready to demonstrate trademark rights, and do hope the other party doesn't reply. But if there's no trademark rights, more so if they're prepared to dispute your dispute, then you're pretty much SOL.
It amazes me how often I see .co.uk companies NOT register their equivelant .com when they clearly had the chance. Is $8 really too much to ask to protect your brand identity? The company will be forced to start a UDRP to gain the domain. Or make an offer via Sedo as well...my guess..$150-$300 might get it. http://www.sedo.com/search/details.php4?language=us&domain=dollarsurbanwear.com And when you say "shortly"...I see 3 months by registration dates...that's more than enough time to secure the domain. Someone dropped the ball and now is going to have to pay one way or another for this.
