    Hey everyone,

Are you guys having the same problem I am. The sites forum seems to be just flooded these days with time wasters.

I sell exclusive resell rights with websites quite often in the sites forum and recently I've noticed a lot of time wasters. One example is Pixel T. who is interested in an eBook I was selling a while back. I send him the info, he said he's interested so I send him a review copy. He says he's really interested. A day later I follow up and he says he can't buy because he has 2 other sites he's working on. 20 minutes later he's asking me tonnes of question on how to write your own eBook, how to setup the eBook website, and then he writes an eBook and asks me to review it for him!!!

Other examples of time wasters include:

    1) People who I send the info to, then send the review copy to and then, they don't have the money available right now. In the thread I state that the price is firm and you must have immediate funds to PM me.

    2) People who I send the to, and say "If you look over the info I send you, check over the previous sales threads, and are still interested, pm me back and I will send you a review copy" 30 seconds later, "Yes I'm defiantly interested, send me a copy". Then I go back in his history and he has 20 posts in a row asking for free eBooks.

    3) People who ask for a copy, I say "Do you have $500 available immediately if you decide to buy", he responds yes, I send him a copy. He says he likes it and wants to buy but only has $300.

Anyone else finding this to be a problem, what do you normally do to prevent this?

All 3 of those situations would really piss me off if I sold ebooks.
I guess you've got to be firm in who you will give a review to (number of posts, iTrader, length of membership, notoriety, whatever) and only give out 1 or 2. In fact you don't need to give a review - it just encourages the spongers who want a free lunch to come out of the woodwork.

I have not and will never ask for a review copy ever. Those posts in which people do drive me nuts! Just don't give any more review copies out, problem solved. Offer a few people with high rep + high iTrader a free copy if they review it. There's your exposure and your not out any money.

    some people abuse reviews/trials

let them pay for it or make lower $ for first few people
that way you will have "indirect reviews" and then later o sell at fixed normla rate

I'm actually thinking of just the thought of ever giving away review copies for my eBook rights sales. Kinda funny, every person who has bought the rights to my eBooks, 5/7 of them didn't even need to see a review copy before they bought. I show them the sales threads with the good reviews, I show them the paypal stats. They shouldn't need to see anything else.

everyone is looking for the free part...thats the whole point of it. But I guess it does piss you off when you specify in the post. This is business in general full of time wasters.

    Now that's just rude!

But then again you can't expect a closing ratio of 100%... Why not just give out excerpts for review?

You can't expect every one to be good here in dp. While more people are good natured, there are still some to create problems. Be firm when you offer review copies and look at the itrader, reps etc before staring the deal.
