I am so far from the games and consoles. Let me be more clear, my last consol (and first pc) was a Commodore 64 I am intended to buy one of those above to my child. But really dont know the difference between Xbox and Xbox360. Seems that Xbox 360 is a never hardware but have no clue. When it comes to compare PS3 and Xbox 360, which one would you advise, has anyone of you used both; If yes, which you liked more? I am really hoping to have some feedback to make a decision which to buy. Thanks in advance to everyone who would reply on this thread
I went with Xbox 360. The games (Call of Duty 4, Halo 3) made me want the 360 over the PS3. The only perk I see with the PS3 is the Blu-Ray player.
Thank you for your answer FKA, I had a quick search I found out that people are promoting their Xboxes Microsoft Xbox 360â„¢ Elite Console Package Microsoft Xbox 360â„¢ Premium Console Microsoft Xbox 360â„¢ Are they all same? Is there any difference between of theme?
I prefer xbox360 for the games currently also. Elite has a bigger harddrive (120Gb) for storing download content and games. You can set parental controls on it as well if you don't want your child to access certain areas, though the online is a closed network and there is not much that would cause any harm. It is also black and has HDMI output guaranteed. The premium has a 20Gb HDD which is sufficient for most average users. You need to check how old the machine you're buying is. New ones comes with HDMI older, ones don't. The Arcade model, or basic model, comes with a memory card rather than a HDD and should do for saving most games although I believe the memory card comes filled with arcade games so I'm not sure how much space remains. The arcade model can be upgraded with a HDD.
The premium and elite have more features and MEMORY, which is important. If you buy the basic version, you'll end up having to buy memory. I only enjoy Halo and Call of Duty for the Xbox. Personally, I think PS3 has more games. Of course, I still prefer the ol' nintendo gamecube for zelda, smash bros, mario kart, etc..
J8Diamonds, You have given very clearn and well information. Now I do have more clear picture in my head about it. Thanks a lot. Cowboytf I am still playing Mario bros and sonic (old version)
I own 2 360s and have been incredibly satisfied with them. Most of my friends own the PS3 and after playing both, I say the 360 is better. It has better games, the online system is better, and reading up on the plans for the 360 in the future, I think it's the better choice. If you look at the console exclusive games, the 360 has better choices (well, for me anyways). The Elite does have a lot bigger hard drive, but I have several South Park and Aqua Teen episodes on top of the save games for EVERY single 360 game I've ever played and still have plenty of space on my Premium system. The bigger drive is only really needed if you plan to download every single arcade game or movies from Xbox Live. I think the Premium is the way to go because you can use the extra money you save for buying some extras like the wireless adapter or the text pad (for the controller). Hope to see you on Xbox Live soon!
Just to make it clear, having read back my comment, each of the systems can be set with parental controls, not just the elite.
We have xbox, xbox360, playstation and gamecube - my kids play on the xbox and xbox360 the most - the games they like the best are on there. My son has a birthday coming pack up and instead of getting a ps3 to ad to his systems he wants another xbox 360 so that he can play against his brother - You might want to check out the games that you want to buy before you buy a system, because all games don't come on all systems. We bought the xbox 360 when halo 3 came out because that was the only system you could play it on. You can also play regular xbox games on the xbox360.
sheilasultani, Thank you for your comment. I've builded up a pc form him which would be very strong to play games in it. And so far GTA has been his favouritte game. When he heard about GTA 4, he started to speak only about this game. After checking a little bit on internet, I found out that GTA 4 will be only for XBox and PS3 (at least all the game I've seen, were for Xbox or PS3). That is why I am intended to buy one of those system. But I already made my decision. Xbox has very positive feedbacks and also much more cheaper than PS3. I will buy a Xbox 360 Premium or Elite (up to price difference) Thanks again.
X box always wins the race as they launch many extreme and amazing games to play and people always love new stuff.
I personally own an Xbox 360. I have had it for about 1 year and a half. I think it is better than the PS3 because fist off, you are able to have friends on the xbox 360 and also there is an astronomical amount of downloadable content available for purchase or free download. Also since the Xbox 360 platform is easier to build games for and is more popular than the PS3 there are lot of great games that come out exclusively for the Xbox 360. All in all I think your best choice would be the Xbox 360 -Ryonin
You do know GTA is rated for adults? As much as you might want to think games are for kids many of them deal with adult themes. Anyway, if you are getting it for GTA then the xbox is going to have episodic (downloadable) content which the PS3 won't have (thanks to a huge payoff from Microsoft). So if you like it a lot your best bet is the 360 because I don'tthink there'll be another GTA for a while.
I know that GTA is rated for adult people J8Diamonds But, I didnt know that XBox will have some special features like downloading new content etc. Good to know. Thanks
