Ok , I am saying about Keyword's conversion tracking AKA Click Flipping actually. How many you guys do it? What is your procedure?

To my best knowlwdge , these are the ways--

[1] Pixel tracking:-Using pixel image. Pixel is a tracking image used to dynamically track visits to a given page. When you add this to your affiliate landing page , it is fired on the merchant's "Thank You" page after a transaction has been completed. DirectTrack's technologies is the creator of the concept and technique.

Code: the code <img src="http://domain/tracker.php?id=SUBID" width="1" height="1" /> , thus one pixel image is added to your page. yourdomain.com/tracker.php takes the information and processes it into its database so you can view it later.

[2]Sub Id and Spreadsheet Tracking- Use sub id for each keyword. Suppose you are promoting the iphone zip submit offer from COPEAC. Your adwords keywords are suppose - "free iphone" ,iphone , iphone for free etc. You now assign id for each keyword.

    iphone- i1
    "free iphone" - i2
    "iphone for free" - i3

Now you can keep track of your converting keywords this way-
append your id on your affiliate link like http://affiliatelink.com/?sub_id=i1 or sub_id=i2 or sub_id=3
after running your offers several hours in PPC and after making some leads or sales - log in to your affiliate a/c and click on the 'Report' button.
You will come to know for what keywords you have made sales.

Same thing can be done with advanced MySql application with dynamic sub_id insertion.

But if you have 1000s of keywords , think about the situation!

[3] Using Softwares: Using softwares like keyword Xray , XtremeConversion etc. But these have limitations.

You must use Landing Page to track your sales. So if you want to promote directly through using affiliate link without using LP , then these tools are useless.

    What is your approach ?

P.S. I use Affiliate Radar [See my signature-not sales link. It is not launched] , i am a beta user there. Its fantastic. You just generate one id inside your a/c and put it on your affiliate link-you're done. It'll track everything like source of traffic , keyword used to drive the traffic if you are using ppc , behavior of the visitor on your LP or the affiliate page and finally it tracks most important thing-whether it goes to 'Thank You' page or not. :D

    Hi indya,

I use KeywordRadar.com for my affiliate tracking.

Not only does it track your affiliate sales, it also tracks email opt-ins.

The ability to do split-test rotation on one landing page without having to mess around with delivering the right page to the right visitor is awesome.

I can test different headlines on my opt-in page, and track which one generated the most opt-ins.

Then it goes a step further and tracks that user if they end up buying on the affiliate merchant's site.

Then you can report on which headline version resulted in the most sales.

There's no subscription either like affiliateradar or keyword x-ray.

You might want to check them out (this isn't an affiliate link by the way)

You can obviously never be positive how safe your keyword data is with anyone (Google included).

But I wouldn't buy keywordradar at this point ... save your $$$ and just use http://tracking202.com ... it's FREE.

well..yea..i mean..that's a given but there's a difference between google and a company like keywordradar. which would you trust to not abuse your keyword lists? (google abuses advertisers in other ways but yea...)
