My company is looking into submitting a Press Release to a variety of sites, and here's my dilema: Their price cap is pretty low (only a couple hundred dollars), so I'm wondering if I want to submit to 2 or 3 large PR sites, or a whole bunch of smaller ones. Larger sites (PRweb.com, PR.com, PRleap.com) all cost anywhere from $100-200 for each release - assuming that you choose a package that will give good exposure/visibility. So, I can submit to 2 or 3 of these large sites, or I could submit to many of the smaller sites, which charge around $30 for each release (of course, that price has a large range). Anyway, I figure that the larger sites offer better services - they submit to more blogs, rss sites, etc. So I may get better exposure from them. I also figure that if I use paid services from a bunch of smaller sites, the exposure may not be as vast, but I'll be able to include backlinks in the release, so I could get a ton more IBLs this way. Oh - and another thing. With the big sites, logically, my submissions will get 'burried' quicker than they would on smaller sites. PS - by 'large' and 'small' sites, I'm really referring to the traffic they get (I've used compete.com and alexa to rate PR sites according to the visits they get) Any advice or ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.
According to me Quality is always better than Quantity in terms of SEO. SO dont go for the number of submissions.
I have been in seo for years now and still do not believe in press releases. That is probably the only thing that still has not been used by me. All right - say, if I pay $100 for a release - what should I expect in terms of traffic? Like, 500 - 2000 visitors?
Really, you've never done Press Releases? It's one of the first SEO techniques you read about in EVERY tutorial, forum, blog, etc... Well, it's not only traffic, it's also a great way to build backlinks and to gain exposure. We spent about $300 on PR sites yesterday, and at first glance, we've gained at least 100 backlinks. That excludes any naturally-built links from the exposure itself. Anyway, we went with a couple more expensive ones, then I've been submitting to a bunch of smaller, free ones. Thanks for the input guys.
on a side not, we submitted a PR about low-consumption (water saving) toilets that we just started manufacturing. in a time of drought, we figured that it was a good idea to promote this. anyway, the release went out around 9am this morning (it is now 11am here), and we already received a call from a environmental magazine that want to feature our products. so far, it looks like the release is going to pay off and get our name out there...
we've have gotten incredible results from the more reputable sites, so it seems like you're right digiboyz and kapil.
