I almost got duped by this one myself a few days ago. I have been looking for an SUV and have been checking my local Kijiji page, I noticed someone listed a 2003 Nissan Murano and only wanted $2700 for it. I messaged herto ask the details on the vehicle, she told me it had low KM's, 1 year of warranty left on it, in mint condition and that she was onyl selling it because she had just got divorced and won the vehicle in the divorce and wanted tog et rid of it super cheap to spite her ex-husband. She told me the vehicle was in Manhatten and could be shipped to me for a total price of $2700 and that if I wanted it to let her know so she could set up the payment using "eBay services", she continued... "We will use a safe payment method because I am affiliated at eBay and I have a purchase protection account for $20.000" Being that these same vehices usually go for $10,000 - $15,000 I was a little hesitant and waited a few days to see what came of it... then looking on Kijiji again today seen these messages posted by other users: "there are low lifes out there trying to trick people out of there hard earned money, don,t fall prey to send money ship item later ads, only purchase items in person " "This 2005 Yamaha Grizzly is a scam, don't get caught like I did. Lost 3000.00 and can't get it back. Don't wire any money, no matter how honest they sound. " "Ijust want to let everybody know that there are a bunch of scam artists out there like the one selling this 2007 Polaris Ranger for $3200.00. They tell you that it is going through an Ebay agent who will hold the money for 15 days and then release it once you receive the ATV...IT IS A SCAM...I FELL FOR IT!!!! I wish somebody had of told me before we seen the great deal. They ask you to wire the money to an account and everything looks authentic from Ebay, but they make it all up. I hope I can save one more person from getting taken by these SCUMBAGS!!!!! " I do not know if this is going on on other Kijiji city pages or not, but I wanted to get the word. Hope it helps save someone some money!
that is rediculous! you'd think with technology, ip addresses, and tracking that people would easily get caught.. =/
