Im looking at a site and i see this <META name="verify-v1" content="47Zckab8HP7mUQ3QhT+GKbBL9DjuFYB7iH+aRsFwYOs=" /> <META name="y_key" content="beadcd5c03bf1308" /> in the metatags. Can anyone tell me what this is and if so why its there. Also if its good let me know how to do it. Thanks
If I recall correctly, they do two things for the seach engines - and Jack left town (meaning they're worse than useless).
The y_key is the meta tag verification element for Yahoo! Site Explorer, the other is the Google Webmasters Central verification element. Why they wouldn't use the file upload method is beyond me.
Yes one is for google and other ons is for yahoo which all the seo are using for google sitemaps and add this on there website for verified to google n yahoo.
META name=â€verify-v1†is for Google Webmasters Tool and META name=â€y_key†is for Yahoo! Site Explorer.
