So, I built up my Aweber list to over 8,000 subscribers over the last few months. I fed my subscribers about 15 followup messages with free information and a few links to related products (My own). This technique has been quite successful, and we have many loyal readers. Today I just blasted my first full blown "Broadcast" to see what happens. A strictly promotional email with a great offer to try to squeeze a lot of sales from it for both me and my affiliates. I guess we will see how well this "List Broadcast" actually works. I expect to see many people unsubscribe, a few spam complaints, and many sales. I'll try to post percentages when the results come in. The offer I posted is good till April 15th, so it may take 2 weeks to get full results. Keeping fingers crossed
10 minutes after my broadcast, first sale came it.. I know it's from the broadcast because customers were instructed to reply to me after they purchase with a promo code. 1 down, lots to go
That's great to hear it works so far. I hope my list will grow to 8000 subscribers. Maybe that will boost my sales. Even 5% conversion rate on that list is great. 10% is fantastic. 20% is a dream. Good luck! nadavs
Thanks Nad, For more exact numbers the broadcast was sent to 7,266 subscribers. 153 opens so far, and 54 clicks. Most of the clicks were to download a free sample I offer. Early statistics look like I caught the interest of about 1/3 of prospects.
Having a good size email list is a great money maker. I've been building list and sending emails for years now, it's a great tool if you just want to make money fast. Your list is your money maker if you know what you're doing. Good luck!

I use multiple singup forms on my sites... it works well... what really matters is what the person is signing up for... i notice depending what the offer is, sign ups increase or decrease... offer something good and you'll have alot of conversions
Day's end update: 800 emails opened, 300 clicks, and 7 confirmed sales resulting from the promotional offer. Many more sales came in, but I am yet to confirm they are from the broadcast because I am yet to receive the promotion code response on them. As a reiteration, the promo is valid through April 15th. Many may not jump right away, now that they know they can procrastinate two weeks. Not jaw dropping yet, but off to a good start

this is great floodrod, I would like to know your secret to getting 8000 for your list, I have a free product coming out and I want to make sure I do it right so my list builds. but my product deals with women only...well pretty much.... I'm sure to get men as affiliate to my product. thanks you floodrod. ps... I was wondering if 15 emails was a little too much before you sold them? I always thought maybe at the most 6-7 powerful emails and then sell them a product. maybe even less... maybe over 4 weeks with one email a week the first week sending them 3 and the next 1 and 1 each week over the next 2 weeks total being 6 and then maybe 2 OMG!! emails just before the sale deals ends. Maybe I'm wrong but this is going to be my approach, what do you think?
So far, 16% of the emails were opened, 37% of opened emails clicked a link, and 2.6% of the link clickers converted. 1212 people opened the email so far, 456 of them clicked a link, and 12 converted. This is only a day and a half. The promotion goes till April 15th.. Hoping to do much better in the upcoming week, but so far, 12 extra sales is nothing to complain about. Offer a free demo.. Show the subscribe box to 500-1500 people a day for a few months Not too sure.. I read what other experts said, but none of which are selling "Mind Powers" and offering training.. With my niche, I kind of have to make my own path. Each of the 15 emails I sent out prior offered steps to enhance the mind, and promoted one product a time. So this isn't the first promotional link in my emails, but this was the first time I broadcasted to 7200 people at one time with a pure sales pitch and nothing else. Best advice I can offer for building a big list is: Make Your Site Captivating! Make your surfers want to read every last word.. Make it so they stick around a while and click through every page.. If you catch their interest, you can offer subscribers something substantial that is directly related to what your product is about. Make them sign up to receive the gift. You can offer the best gift in the world, but if the page is boring, the surfer will leave before he/she even reads about the gift.

Not sure.. I block all emails that aweber auto sends because I would be getting 100+ emails a day.. Lots of people unsubscribe all the time.. I have some updated stats today.. 17 total conversions so far from the broadcast 1352 emails opened 499 clicks more to come as the stats continue
I have some more updated stats for those still interested. 31 conversions from the email promo 547 clicks on links 1474 emails opened 20.29% opened the letter 37% of opened letters received clicks 5.6% of clicks resulted in conversions The majority of emails sent weren't even opened yet. I'm hoping the next 11 days of this promo keep this pace.
That's why I don't like E-mail marketing, unless you have a list of 1000000 subscribers, you are not going to make a decent amount of sales, sending a product to your list. 31 sales out of 8000 mails, that's not right
Valid point, but over 5500 of the emails haven't been opened yet, and the product advertised is one that they have already seen or bought before. I didn't introduce anything new to them. It's still early in the promotion as I expect the numbers to keep climbing. Overall, can't complain over an extra $750 for shooting out an email
Hey, did you warn your readers that you would be sending out this special promotion. I hope you had a 7-10 day tease to your list where they would of sign up to receive information about your upcoming special promotions, they should of sign up to another special list where they would be receiving the notifications. Now persons on this list would of seperated from the regular list. No doubt it the numbers would be smaller but moe targeted and who would be interested in and eager to buy your new special offers. This is how the gurus get 25-35% conversions.
