need help on photo gallery

    Hello everyone!

I want to place a photo gallery on my website that would allow site visitors to upload their own pictures to the gallery. This will be for friends or fans group.

Considering budget constraints and page limitations with my current web host package, I need such photo gallery to be free and remotely hosted. I need something like I could just have a script I could copy and paste/embed onto my webpage. Something similar to photo galleries by slide.com, but not necessarily like it in appearance and behavior

Anyone know of anything decent that I can use to address my need, please?

Thanks in advance for your recommendation! :)

You will find a hard time with a free host only because of the storage restrictions but if you were just to pay for hosting and get any free package you would be in business.

    phpgraphy
    phpalbum

Both free and very nice galleries.

Thanks for your response, Little Jon! :)

Unfortunately, I'm a complete noobie at site-building and relies on a WYSWYG copy/paste editor in working on my website.

Php, therefore, is completely alien to me. I'm really sorry I don't think I can handle it. I'm not ashamed to admit it. :(

All I know is copy a generated javascript and paste it on my site. That's why I was mentioning something like slide.com's galleries. All one has to do is upload photos, do some tweaking, generate a code, then paste it on webpages. I don't think I can handle anything more complex than that at this point i time, although I'm open to the possibility of learning over time.

The only problem I have with slide.com's gallery is that it doesn't allow site visitors to add their own photos to the gallery.

Do you have any other recommendations? I hope I'm not asking too much. Thanks a lot again for coming to my assistance!

Nope, gringo. I'm with flicker and it doesn't have what I'm looking for.

Visitors cannot add their own photos. They can comment, yes, but not add photos.

    Any other idea?

Thanks for dropping by this thread! :)

Joomla! is an open source software that help you build your site from zero without the need of programing... and best of all: its free...

Its hard to explain it in just a few words... but i believe that if you go to www.joomla.com you will get your answer and future answers for future coming q'.....

    Thanks!

Do they allow site visitors to upload their own photos to the gallery?

I believe if you can do that... you should be able to upload a php script without too much trouble.
I second that... and can install and set up one of these galleries for you for just a few bucks.
