I have just created a Google webmasters account, and also added a metatag to verify the site. I have also created a xml sitemap. Now how can i add the sitemap to my site and submit to google. Plz help me on this.
Just upload the sitemap.xml file to your server and log into your google webmaster account. Click the title of your site and then click the sitemaps link shown on the left side. Then check the sitemap.xml option and click the submit selected option. That's all. Google bot will automatically download your xml file within minutes
Click on the google add sitemap. Then in the box just put the URL that your sitemap will be : E.G : Sitemap Then wait for a couple oh hours for the spider will come and visit the cute sitemap that you have been submitted
If you use blogger as your domain, after choosing add site map at google webmaster, choose add general web site map then enter your blog name and plus atom. xml or rss.xml
After creating xml sitemap upload the sitemap.xml file to your server and log in google webmaster account. click the sitemaps link shown on the left side. Then check the sitemap.xml option and click the submit selected option. That's all. Google bot will automatically download your xml file within minutes
The sitemap usually resides at the root of your site, i.e. www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml But theoretically you can put it anywhere, as long as you tell google where it is.
Another option is to use Sitemaps Autodiscovery (a robots.txt extension supported by all major search engines)
First create your sitemap in XML format and then login to Webmaster tools and go to subit sitemap option and submit it.that's it.
Firstly make sure it is in .xml format, and try to avoid free programs. Pay for a sitemap program as then you would be 100% sure it will work. I can't say the best program but ask ppl what the best program to use is/ =)
Actually, I've had consistent quality output from the free generator at http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/. It will give you free xml sitemaps for up to 500 pages. I've never had a problem with the results at either Google or Yahoo.
http://www.vigos.com/products/gsitemap/ Check that one out, it's a free XML sitemap generator and doesn't have any limits. This is what I always use.
Hmm, unfortunately it looks like it's Windows-only; I'm on a Mac. But I'm safe for quite a while, with less than 150 pages in the site to date.
http://www.google.com/support/webma...nswer=34575&query=submit+sitemap&topic=&type= go through this process.
Your 90% there once logged into google account, goto the webmaster tools and in there you have the add sitemap option. Would also recommend verifying yoursite and looking at some of the other tools in there. Very useful area
