Yes it can be slow sometimes because it is a big company with lots of issues and users to deal with, but I think its better than most of the "home-made companies" flying around DP, with their business running solely on this forum. As for better quality, of course you better go for VPS or Dedicated box if you don't want to experience most of the issues with shared hosts, but it all depends on your budget and how "big" are you planning your website.
