That was a racial taunt, and being an asian it would surely hurt our sentiments. Why don't you ask your registrars about your domain. I don't think GD is an asian company
But you have China on its way to possibly becoming the new superpower, India is "on a come up" many Indians speak english, more chinese are learning english, a third of the worlds population is within just those two countries alone. Japan is on its way to a 90% internet connected population. For me .asia holds much promise and much potential. For me .asia defines what it covers, it already includes the whole word, .eu doesn't, its not as obvious, i bet more people could correctly associate with it. The west has had its day, now people are looking to the east.
I am saying .asia is not promising, not the asian continent. EU is already huge in terms of everything but .eu is still pretty much crap
Here in China .com is still the major domain of choice. Then .cn and I haven't found anyone who even knows about .asia besides a few webmasters. Change takes a long time in Asian countries and once people get used to .com or .cn .jp or whatever it will be hard to switch them away. Also people are very patriotic around here and wouldn't likely switch to .asia easily. Don't get me wrong there is some potential if your website services the entire asian market. But I believe .asia will only be valuable for a few select very large and established companies but they will likely be accessed through .com anyway). Also think most of the .asia domains will focus on english and not on country specific languages...maybe focussed on the english speaking population in asia. Have nothing to back this up with...just a hunch
