Great SEO trick

I know a big industry SEO expert and i analyze his site and discover a hidden trick.

He has two file format for same content. You may see the pages below.

ebiz-solutionz.com/web-design.php
ebiz-solutionz.com/web-design.htm

But, unfortunately i did not understand this strategy, Can anyone let me know what is this trick. And I personally know this person is very famous among in our local SEO market.

 

There is no trick there. They are close to identical pages. He probably used to use php and switched it to htm. What makes you think he is an industry expert? Shouldn't he be ranking for "web design" if that was true?

 

Actually,
He launched his website, last month and you know this is very competitive term.

But, at their launch they release .html and .php versions of pages at their start.

 

Nothing about that site shows that they are experts in anything. Judging by their code and statements like "Reciprocal links is another way to make your site link popular" - they are not very experienced. There is no advantage of having both extensions - maybe they didn't know how to use mod-rewrite? It wouldn't surprise me.

You should ignore everything that site is doing and find a site that really knows SEO.

 

There is no SEO benefit having both pages up, in fact it's quite silly still having the php pages on the server with content on them.

They should replace the php pages with 301 redirects, asap.

The actual page is .html and they have made duplicate page for that is .php

Its the same thing the only difference is the file extensions.

 

OK well I never saw any of his site at SERP its depends at you that what you call the seo thing as much as i concern its SERP only.
SO will be waiting for your reply the maximum time period google took in indexing a website pages is 15 days . your site up time matters a lot at it.But few time it takes toooooooooooooo long.

 

Yes they have duplicate content but why ? that's the question

 

Maybe even though theres duplicate url's the content on the pages is different? Just a guess but I'm willing to bet he might actually be doing some kind of trick, it won't last long if everyone find out though.

 

And they have ebiz-solutionz.com/robots.txt , robots file where they mention each bot name explicitly, i think this will significantly be a good trick.....

 

For sure it's not a trick....it can lead to duplicate content

 

i dont want to repeat the obvious comment here. Just to add value and a note of advice for newbies, .html pages often rank better than .php.

 

The site has no sitemap.xml file, and that robots.txt file is nothing special.

What's this site rank for? I mean give us some keywords to go off of. Do the search engine listing descriptions match text on the site? If not, he may be dabbling in a little cloaking.

The text on the php page looks like it was "machine enhanced" for non human eyes.

 

They have same page content in both .htm and .php format. It has no benefit in terms of seo. It's a duplicate content. Only the first publish page are the one passing a link juice and the second one are no use.

 

There is absolutely no difference - more people use html, so of course you will tend to see them ranking higher.

 

That is no trick. Stop looking for something that isn't there. The site doesn't rank for any competitive term, so why are you worried about trying to duplicate it?
