Is it legal to host a unlicensed anime site on a USA host? since the series isn't licensed in the USA but in Japan only.

Some sites use that as a way of saying they're legal. Pretty much illegal and hosts in general don't want such sites if they become popular in any way. But I'm sure you knew that last part.

it doesn't matter where you host it. Anime is always copyrighted either by the makers in japan or the license buyers in the USA. The copyright owners in Japan are weaker than those in the USA that's why websites ignore them.

It is not legal, one simple email to your host and most likely you will be banned. USA hosts are quite strict on copy rights.

It is illegal from a legal perspective but then again the Japanese industry has let it happen as it's allowed anime to be distro'd that would of never been seen by western eyes. Though now the Japanese government has pleaded to the US government to help stop as what they see as 'piracy' as the anime industry in Japan is being crippled by excess piracy.

It is a matter of perspective, personally I think you wouldn't have any problems unless the unlicensed series if being eyed by an american licensor
[Funimation stopped shinsen from subbing the last episodes of Romeo X Juliet, even though it wasn't licensed by them, they were given the right to stop the subbing on behalf of the Japanese Studios) , also a couple of C&D's were sent out to some people hosting it.

Let's just assume you are joking with that comment.

    To OP...yes it's still illegal.
