Are You Mad at Ebay? They no longer allow the sale of digital items

Starting March 31st no one can list digital items in ebay auctions...instead they have to be classified ads. Ebay Thread here

Anyone else think ebay is shooting itself in the foot by not allowing digital delivery? I know many people who make their living selling ebooks on ebay and to give them such short notice is crazy. I don't like this new CEO.

Makes sense with all the copyright infringement that must be going on with the selling of ebooks, ive always thought a move like this was on the horizon. Business is all about diversification anyway, the sellers need to move with the times.

digital delivery items are too much problematic:
    1. copyright infringements
    2. scamming
    3. cause so many frauds and chargebacks

I think it is the best move ebay has done in ages!
Get rid of all the sellers of digital goods.
Make them use the classified or move on.

Ebay is not shooting themselves in the foot, but rather it will help their business grow.

This will also save on many paypal disputes and put some of the scammers out of business, I don't sell to much on ebay any more any ways, I used to, we sold many hosting accounts off from there, but the fees are just out rages anyways.

I'm really happy that they stopped allowing it.
I never use Ebay because I'm tired of having to go through results to see if the product is real or digital. I guess I'll be using Ebay more often now :)

oh also not to mention it will wipe out the confusiions between whole sale and whole sale lists!
I saw many buyers buying giving huge amount of $ later realizing it is a list of where to get wholesale items for ws prices

Very good point I have seen people spend 800 or more on a list when they thought they were buying a big screen t.v. Because they did not read the auction completely or the fine print.

Good point I forgot about that.

Maybe they should have taken this step earlier.

I would have saved near to 1200 Rs in the listing/selling fees there.
I do get occasional phone calls from their agents/reps. asking to pay the listing fees. :p

Heck how do I pay, i don't even have a bank account.
*will pay when i get one opened

I think it will help the ebay market.. The next thing that will happen is that pay pal will stop accepting payment for all digital or non tangible items. That will stop their fraud and charge backs

That may happen sooner than you know!
Ebay owns paypal, so who knows?

If you still want to buy or sell digital products, try stormpay.
They actually will allow sellers to accept paypal!
