Pretty good. I don't think it's too intrusive. I would change the text color from #000000 to #444444 to match the rest of the site. And maybe try adding a link unit under categories.
you have placed only a single ad unit , try placing a skyscraper in between the content in the sidebar

site looks nice and clean...like your photgraphy...i remember giving a review to this site to change the image on the upper left side with your own photos...at least thats what i could remember...
