I Have a celebrity site that finally started ranking well on Search engines. It's pg 4 of google, and Page 1 of MSN. It's google ranking will go to page 1 within a few weeks. The site is getting 200+ Uniques daily and growing. Adsense is performing terribly on it. Clicks as low as 0.01. The avrg click is 0.04 or so. The site gets 1k Or so page views daily. Anyone have any monetization tips besides adsense? Any chance adbrite pays better on Celeb sites? Or does anyone know a good celeb affiliate?
I have a similar site so I'm interested to know too..i see zango in your sig...did you tested it? I was afraid se would go naughty with my site so i'm still on adsense.
It would be better you could share your website link so that we can look at the placements of adverts and content quality to be able to analyze better
no, adsense really sux for celebrity niche...I heard vibrant media or smthg like that is a good choice ( that if you have 500k pageviews/month!)
thats y i said above to sell ur Ad spots......and buy ad spots on other sites and increase ur traffic
It seems like most of the decent entertainment advertisers (that pay anything) make you wait and show decent traffic for 6 months before you can sign up with some of them.
ha you jut asked the million dollar question when you get that figured out you can sell the answer and get rich and scrap the site. i have 20 celeb sites and they pay crap. zango 400 uniques and 50.00 well if your converting like that i would stick to that. mine never convert like that
Celeb niche is a low paying niche and you wont make big bucks unless you got huge traffic. Try to sell some ad spots or products and hopefully, you'll make more than adsense.
There are a ton of ways...but they require work for one... get away from the PPC...if your getting 100k+ amonth, look for some CPM ads. also KNOW YOUR TARGET...who is the celebrity? Is is someone my WIFE would go to the site to learn about, or is it someone a high school student I mentor would want to go to. Thats the first thing...know the audience then, get some products/services that apply to them you can sell actual posters of the celeb, ebooks, music, videos etc try adding a "store" with amazon...with just things related to the celeb...whether it be movies they were in, or the cosmetic line of theirs a MUST is an optin newsletter....set up a newsletter, that will automatcially send them updates on news/gossip of the celeb...once that list is bigger, there are a ton of ways to monetize the list ultimately there are 10 different main ways to make money on the net, and If you guys want it, i will post a link to a seminar i did that explains the methods...it would be free of course. adsense is in the entry level, meaning easy to implement..but also hardest to monetize (in reference to amount of revenues earned) with the 10 different main ways there are 100s of ways to make money from the net, and therefore dozens of ways to monetize your specific site think outside the "ppc" box, and think about ways to communicate with your visitors. The more ways you communicate, the more ways you can make money. You are using one idea right now...a forum...why not add a forum for people to talk about your celebrity? more adsense revenue, but also opens up more doors for advertising, affiliates and more. A great site that monetizes forum users is SitePoint look at all the ebooks, kits, seminars, paid forums etc they have. you could do the same thing just my 2¢
