I want to open US bank account please help

Hi all,

I want to open US bank account, please help me out with it.
I would prefer to open it via online.
Iam from india and i want to open a checking account where in i will be given debit card with online access to intiate transactions online.
main thing is that it should be easy,secure and reliable.
No minimum balance or less min balance to maintain (like 100$ or 150$)
Visa or mastercard debit card

(ps. I know about etrade,so please give me some other bank details)

I think you don't know the way, but there are lot of banks that offers offshore accounts for non-us aliens to open account with them.
I know some from cyprus, but i want something inside US land.

anybody else ??

You can get a United States bank account without a social security number. A social security number is only needed if the account is interest-bearing. Banks need to follow a you know your customer (YKYC) regulation. This regulation was in place for quite some time, but since 9-11, banks have taken it more seriously. Bank of America is a known as a world bank and is known for opening checking accounts for people.

Walking into the bank helps to satisfy the YKYC regulation. (Actually if they require you to have a social security number, that needs to be posted clearly on the outside.) Usually when people open up any type of account, they assume that a social security number is needed. And this assumption is what causes the a misinterpretation.

A lot of banks - even smaller banks - will have a relationship with some of the banks in the United States. This relationship might also help to satisfy the YKYC regulation. Check with all your banks to see if they can help you.

 

I would suggest you do it the legal way.

Open an LLC which can have non-resident shareholders and then have a bank account that is legal and you will be protected in the long term.

That is the best way to do it. Any other way, and you are opening up yourself up for legal problems later especially if your business is successful.

To open a bank account in the us you need an Social security number or Tax Id from the IRS

Are you planning to open an Ecommerce store using yahoo?

 

You must be 18+ old,and you also need a social secure number.

Iam 23 but no SSN

You can contact citibank,Maybe they have service to help foreign clients to get an account.

 

Under the US Patriot Act in Nov 2001, non residents are not allowed US account. It is like totally IMPOSSIBLE. Good luck though

You need to have a EIN number if a coporation
the SS# of the principal account holders
Identification (drivers license/passport)

legally you are supposed to SIGN THE PAPERWORK in a branch also.


(savings accounts are a little different)

also paypal now has a debit card you might want to check into

 

Paypal debit card is offered only US citisen not for me lol
