I like the overall layout. Lots of info. I think the header image could use a little work though. Other than that it's a GREAT start!
I think it looks real nice. As mentioned header can use some polishing other then that the categories look good and inviting. My only suggestion would be ( based on my personal preference) is switch the General and About You forums. I like the newcomers to feel they are the most important people and also would add to the forum descriptor and inviting comment like "Introductions here to" or something to that affect. It's been my experience members don't like to talk about themselves right away but if you give them an Introduction section they'll do that. And always welcome your newcomers! Good luck, nice work.
That's the template default...if your going to talk about that...talk to the designer of the template...
It's too plain and generic, looks like you've just bought a template, and copy/pasted the text into it (which is probably what you did). You should try and put some imagery, custom logo - that sort of thing, to give it a bit more identity. You also need more interactivity, forum/blogs etc.
Oreo Killa 225 I have to agree with SEOBusiness, it is never a good idea to use dark background and light text on sites where you would like people to visit often and stay to contribute. It is not easy on the eye and there for may cost you traffic and visitors. Saying "talk to the designer of the template" is all very well but you are choosing to use it... My 2 cents anyway and good luck with it whatever you decide to do. James
I was going to write something, but I dont think you want to hear any critics about your site, thats too bad. I dont belive any one here is saying anything just to disrespect your site or you. I think they want to help you.
The text in white is stark on the dark background which made me focus to read it. I don't mind the layout or the design...it isn't really my kinda site, but I am just one guy, there will be a ton of people who will dig this... overall I think you have done a good job, just maybe make the text a little easier on the eyes.
I like it although I would change some of the navigation buttons or at least the font color. It is a bit hard to read currently.
